In The Year 199X Art Show Opening

brainfarto:

Calling all Anime fans! In the Year 199X is a celebration of Japanese animation in the 1990’s, curated by your favorite senpais Zoë Moss & Jacob Strick. Join us as we unveil the works of over 90 artists in celebration of their all-time favorite anime influences.

Kids who grew up in the 90’s know it as the decade where anime found its crossover appeal in the West. It might have been on Toonami or on a bootleg VHS, but you were watching shows like Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and Cowboy Bebop — not to mention some classic cinema like Ghost in the Shell, Perfect Blue and Princess Mononoke. Whether you prefer dubs or subs – or Digimon to Pokémon – prepare yourself for the most animetastic tribute to 90’s Japanese cartoons!

When: July 3rd, 2015 from 7 to 11 PM
Where: Meltdown Comics inside Nerdist Showroom
7522 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90046
Click here for the Facebook event page

There’s gonna be free food, a live DJ and other surprises! Thank you to everyone who has participated and hope to see you at the show!

nooooooooo I’M SICK.

Doing better than yesterday, but still sick. What’s up with this bug that’s going around, it’s terrible! Could very well be a mini flu. Anyway, this was me yesterday. I could barely move, I went through a box of tissues in one day, and finally started watching Tru Blood. I kept wanting to drink V juice so’s I could get better.

Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow!

A SAD FATE FOR PIZZA DAY DIS WEEK. Zoë – our amazing artist – is recovering from a flu that has knocked her out. Regular comics will resume next week, but rather than leave you all empty handed we wanted to give you a preview of a little thing we’ve been working on…

This is Toad Boy! A cheery lad who just wants to help everybody! Astute Pizza Day readers may remember him from last January’s comic, “Toad Boy in ‘Sweet Nothings’.” He’s since then taken on a life of his own here at PDC HQ. You’re likely to see more of him soon…

It’s Pinchy’s Year!

brainfarto:

Happy New Year, everyone!

What better way to ring it in with our pals Pinchy the Goat and her best friend, Inchy the snake? (2025 is the next year of the snake by the way.)

For anyone who’s just joined us, these two trouble makers premiered in 2013 for a short cartoon. They’ve been causing mischief in less occult ways every since.

Hey it’s those weird animals again! Hope everyone had a great start to their new goat year, and we’ll be back with a new comic next week ;D

Stan Lee’s Comikaze
